A Climbing Tree

I should have titled this post:

Sam - I found a tree to climb (it's not like we don't have a million)!!

I've climbed perhaps 20 trees on our property, which is about 1/100 of all the trees on our property. I have favorites, and then there are those that have given me bad memories (like falling off a twenty foot high branch because it snapped underneath me). Yesterday I found an oak tree. It was difficult to get to the first branch, because I had to hug the tree, and sort of crawl up. But from there it was easy, although, oak trees can get pretty bushy!

My family has two hunting cats. Because my dad is allergic, they stay outside, excepting the garage. They are almost full grown in these pictures:

The black cat is Midnight and the grey one is named Smokey (oh yeah, I get it :) !

Happy Birthday Scott!!!

Last Saturday was Scott Namanny's birthday. Scott is in my ward and he's actually my dad's friend, but I like him too. He is the most amazing guy you could ever meet. He plays piano, he sings . . . I mean he basically could do anything. Our family hosted a birthday breakfast at our house for him. After the breakfast, him and I were doodling on the piano. We had never rehearsed together, yet as he was playing the chords, I was messing with the C minor Blue's scale. You know C, E flat, F, G flat, G . . . oh forget it! I played that the whole time, mixing it up a little, while he was changing chords every time, yet it always sounded right. He's just . . . INCREDIBLE!!!

Some Snow!!!

A 1-3 times-a-year occasion: a snow fall! In the morning is wasn't sticking but halfway to lunch, the grass, the road, the porch, the dirt . . . they were starting to look white. I slipped on some snow gear and a pair of water proof camo boots. Before I went out I yelled to everybody inside, "Let's go play in the snow!" By the time we started filming, we had already been having snowball fights so the ground was beginning to show.
